SYA Canberra Fun Day - A Heartening Success!

Posted on 31/10/10 by Saranpaal Calais | Category: Events | 4 Comments»

SYA Canberra held its first Youth Fun Day on the 26th of September 2010. Thirty eager participants, aging from 3-25 years, along with onlooking parents arrived at the Mount Mugga Recreation Hall in Red Hill.

Events included outdoor soccer competitions, egg and spoon races, face painting, arts and craft as well as a myriad of other games that kept all involved highly entertained and perhaps a little exhausted by the end. The Canberra youths were not the only participants, with the prospect of chocolate prizes proving too irresistible for some parents. All in all, the day was a great success with many laughs, many memories and many friendships to take away.

Thank you to all who donated food for the event as well as their time and effort. Also, a special mention must go to the management team of Gunchi Saggu, Jasvir Singh, Gobinder Kashmirian and Japna Singh for their efforts in planning, organising and running the event.

With such a great turnout and support for the first event, Canberra can only look forward to building on this in the future.
